GRE Exam Eligibility

The GRE Exam imposes no specific eligibility criteria on candidates. It is open for registration to individuals of all backgrounds, with no set age limits or educational qualifications mandated for GRE 2024. Conducted by ETS, the GRE General Test, commonly referred to as GRE, is one of the largest assessment programs for admission to graduate courses in MS & MBA studies worldwide. GRE Syllabus

The GRE Verbal Syllabus is divided into three parts:

Sentence Equivalence

In this part, candidates must complete a sentence with two options that have the same meaning and are grammatically correct. It evaluates your ability to fill in the blanks in a paragraph with suitable choices.

Text Completion

This section tests your capacity to construct a coherent picture from the given text. Both Sentence Equivalence and Text Completion gauge your vocabulary skills, but merely recognizing words won’t suffice. Understanding their meanings is crucial for success in this section.

Reading Comprehension

This section includes passages from three different subject areas – humanities, natural science, and social science (Business). Candidates need to read and analyze these passages carefully before answering questions. Don’t worry if you come across an unfamiliar topic; focus on understanding the passage and answering the questions based on the information provided. Remember, all questions can be answered using the passage content. This section assesses your ability to comprehend written information effectively.

GRE Exam Pattern

As per the recent announcement by ETS, the GRE exam for 2024 will consist of five sections. These sections will evaluate the candidates’ skills in Analytical Writing, Verbal Reasoning, and Quantitative Reasoning. Below, we outline the updated GRE test pattern.

GRE Score

A good GRE score depends on the specific graduate programs you are considering. As a point of reference, the average score for all GRE test takers currently stands at around 150 for Verbal and 152 for Math.

Given that the GRE General Test is utilized across a broad spectrum of graduate school programs, including some business schools, the significance of your GRE score will vary depending on the field and the individual institution. It’s essential to research the universities to which you plan to apply, allowing you to tailor your GRE preparation strategy accordingly.

GRE Validity

ETS will retain your score report for up to five years following your test date. Because the creators of the GRE consider scores to be valid for five years, educational institutions also recognize and accept scores that were originally issued up to five years prior.

GRE Registration

Follow these simple steps to register for the GRE exam:

Visit the Educational Testing Service website and register for the GRE.
Create your login account using a username and password.
Fill in all the required information accurately.
Schedule your GRE exam date and time by booking an appointment.
Double-check all the details you've provided.
Make the payment for the GRE registration fees.
Click on the Register/Apply button to finalize your registration.
A confirmation will be sent to your registered mobile number once the registration is complete.

GRE Test Fees

The PTE Academic exam fee is ₹15,900, inclusive of taxes. This fee applies to both PTE Academic and PTE Academic Online exams. Upon registration, you are required to pay the registration fee.

If you choose to pay the fee within 48 hours of the exam date, you will incur a late booking fee in addition to the regular fee.
